The City of Thomaston is dedicated to maintaining quality neighborhoods and an excellent community environment, ensuring safe and sustainable buildings for everyone.
This department issues building permits, performs plan reviews, conducts inspections, and issues certificates of occupancy/completion.
Any construction, renovation, or redevelopment requires a permit by the City of Thomaston.
The City of Thomaston enforces all of the state minimum standard codes enumerated in O.C.G.A. § 8-2-20.
You may fill out your permit application online as well as requesting inspections online too. We are still accepting in-person, emailed, and mailed permits. Your online account will give you full access to past permits, see status updates, make payments, request inspections and more.

The City of Thomaston code enforcement officers enforce codes/ordinances in relation to property maintenance, nuisance properties, abandoned vehicles, and unpermitted or abandoned signs.
